A FUNNY THING HAPPENED TO ME ON THE WAY TO A GAG

For a comedian, the joy of improv is the fact that you never know where you’re going to end up. Or even how you’re going to get there.

This is flying by the seat of your smartypants, without a net, and the joy isn’t so much the destination as the journey itself. Getting behind the wheel, and just driving down whatever trail of thought seems the most inviting and inspiring. And then… well ,who knows. A sudden left turn, into a field, can bring its own rewards. Or maybe you’re just going to get a flat-tired, and grab a bike.

Which, yep, is getting your metaphors in a bit of a twist, but, hey, that’s how comedy improv works. It’s all about the unexpected twist, the comedian just as surprised as the audience as what comes out of their mouths in the moment.

For buddies Joe Rooney (Father Ted, Killinaskully), Sharon Mannion (Bridget & Eamon) and Danny Kehoe (Moone Boy, Red Rock), making each other laugh has always been easy. Which is why they decided to team up and go on the road, to share their incredible skills for spontaneous silliness with the world. And Greystones.

So, if you’d like something a little off-menu and half-piste, hey, put on your silliest hat and head on down to The Whale on Friday 15th June…
