Terms & Conditions

By attending an event at the Whale Theatre, you are accepting the following Terms & Conditions, agreeing to be bound by them and agreeing to comply with all applicable laws and regulations. Please read these carefully before booking your tickets. The Whale reserve the right to make changes to these Terms & Conditions at any time without prior notice.

TICKETING, REFUNDS, RESALES & EXCHANGES

Once purchased tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded. We will only offer ticket refunds for cancelled shows. We regret that we will not be able to offer a refund or exchange on your ticket(s) if you are refused entry to a performance due to being late.

Tickets may be exchanged for a performance within the same event run with at least 24hrs notice. An admin fee of €3 per ticket will also be incurred, on top of any change in ticket price, if applicable.

If the ticket you are returning is in your possession we will be unable to resell it until you have handed it into the Box Office.

Concession tickets are only available for certain shows. Where available, a separate concession ticket option will show up on the booking page. Where a performance includes a concession price, these tickets are generally available to senior citizens (60+), children (under 16), unwaged, people with registered disabilities, and students. All concessions are subject to availability and must be mentioned at the time of booking if you are booking over the phone. Additional documentation may be requested by staff.

Tickets must not be sold for profit or commercial gain by any outlet other than The Whale Theatre or one of its authorised agents. Failure to comply may make this ticket and transaction void.

If we have sold out of the general allocation for a performance we will endeavour to sell any returned tickets to the waiting list for that specific performance only. If a ticket is resold we will issue a credit voucher via an automatic email to the original booker. This voucher can be used to purchase tickets to any future Whale Theatre event, subject to availability, online, in person or over the phone. A resale will incur a charge of €2.50 administration fee per ticket.

By purchasing a ticket you agree to these terms and conditions.

VENUE & EVENT POLICIES

The management reserves the right to refuse admission or re-entry to a performance. Under these circumstance, refunds or exchanges will not be offered. The management reserves the right to alter or amend the programme without prior notice as a result of unforeseen circumstances.

Please arrive early. Latecomers may either be asked to wait until a suitable break in the performance, or they may be refused admission. If collecting or purchasing tickets from box office we advise you arrive at least 15 minutes before the show.

The use of cameras and video cameras are not permitted in the auditorium. Any recording of the performance (either audio or visual) is prohibited. The management reserves the right to refuse entry of, and use of, such equipment on the premises. Please ensure all mobile phones are switched off or in airplane mode before entering the theatre.

Smoking is not permitted in any part of the building.

The Whale Theatre accepts no responsibility for possessions lost or stolen on the premises.

Our auditorium offers a great view of the stage from all angles. However, our shows are all general admission, with staff on hand to show you to the best seats available. Therefore, depending on the style of production, some seats offer a view that works better with the design of show or style of performance. Images of some of our seating plans can be seen in the Gallery section

BOX OFFICE & TICKET COLLECTION

The main box office is located in the foyer of the theatre.

Tickets may be collected from the Box Office at least half an hour before a performance. We recommend picking up your tickets at least twenty minutes before the performance start time.

Some higher profile shows may have stricter collection rules which you will be made aware of at the time of the booking.

Unfortunately, we are unable to post tickets and all pre-paid tickets should be collected from the Box Office.

AGE RECOMMENDATIONS / RESTRICTIONS

Some of our shows have age recommendations, but as there is no censorship on live theatre we welcome all ages. However, some shows may have a stricter age policy than others, and this will be made clear at the time of booking. All under 16s can only be admitted with adequate adult supervision.

As there is a full bar within the venue children under 16 are advised not to approach the bar. Young adults aged 16-18 can approach the bar until 9pm, after that only over 18s can approach the bar. After 11pm, all under 16s must be off the property.

We welcome younger children, but if they become unsettled during a performance we may ask you to take them outside. Some of our shows have strict age restrictions according to content. If you have any reservations please feel free to discuss the content of any of the shows with a member of staff.
