Wicklow Stories Film Festival

4pm Show:

A line-up of fascinating short films, as well as musical guest Dylan E. Crampton will be sure to make for an unforgettable afternoon at the Whale Theatre in the opening act of the inaugural Wicklow Stories Film Festival. 

The showing includes celebrated short films such as Sinead O’Loughlin’s early masterpiece “Homecoming”, which centres around a young man returning to Wicklow. Created with beautiful cinematography by Dan Keane, this is a celebration of Wicklow itself. 

Dylan E. Crampton’s music is soft, flowing, melodic and full of a very unique Greystones charm. 

Duration: 75 – 90 minutes approx.

7.30pm Show:

The main event for the Wicklow Stories Film Festival kicks off at 7.30pm, showing pieces by locals such as “The Forgotten”, which was the brainchild of Bray filmmaker and director Sam Uhlemann, who has gone on to create his highly celebrated debut feature “Edge of Chaos”, as well as working on the new award winning ground-breaking film “Lambing”. 

Musical guest Cian O’ Melia will delight with his grounded and down to earth style. 

The world premiere of the widely celebrated inaugural Wicklow Stories Anthology “The Pier” will conclude the evening as a culmination that showcases the essence of Irish independent filmmaking. Created by Writer and Producer Ronika Merl, The Pier has been a year long journey which is now coming to its rightful home in the Whale Theatre. Directed by five up and coming directors, among them the widely celebrated Sinead Cassidy Holt, and starring high calibre acting talent such as Shane Robinson, this film is truly unique and will give the audience a clear cut view of what Wicklow life is like.
