Adjacent Meridian Point,
This theatrical adaptation of Wilde’s classic novel has played to great acclaim throughout Ireland and has enjoyed sold-out runs in Bewley’s Café and at the Viking Theatre, as well as touring successfully to the south of France.
The story is set in the decadent world of Victorian London, where the socialite Lord Henry Wotton seduces the beautifully boyish Dorian Gray into a life of indulgence, vice and dissipation. Infatuated by Basil Hallward’s portrait, Dorian makes a Faustian pact that he will remain forever young while the picture charts his decline into sin and self-destruction.
The Picture of Dorian Gray combines drawing room comedy and Gothic horror, and is a compelling, intimate and hugely entertaining theatrical event.
It features Gate Theatre regulars Michael James Ford and Michael Winder, alongside Simon Coury, a veteran of the Royal Shakespeare Company.
A really fine and passionately truthful production – Sunday Independent
