The Nutcracker performed by Bolshoi Ballet

The Bolshoi’s most enchanting ballet The Nutcracker will be shown at the Whale Theatre on 30th December 2017 at 4pm.

Yuri Grigorovich’s version of The Nutcracker has been for several year a great success in cinemas and theatres, with more than 330,000 spectators.

The young Principals of the Bolshoi Anna  Nikulina and Denis Rodkin, favourite   dancers   of   the   ledgendary choreographer Grigorovich,  a mainstay of  the  Bolshoi Ballet at 90 years old, will be performing Marie and The Prince.  This joyful production on Tchaikovsky’s timeless score, makes The Nutcracker the perfect  ballet  to discover the company for the family during the holiday season.

Cast Anna Nikulina (Marie), Denis Rodkin (the Nutcracker – Prince), Andrei Merkuriev (Drosselmeyer), Vitaly Biktimirov (the Mouse King) and the Bolshoi Corps de Ballet.


As the clock strikes midnight on Christmas Eve, Marie’s wooden nutcracker doll comes to life and transforms into a prince!


Soon joined by her other toys that have also come to life, Marie and her prince embark on a  dreamy unforgettable adventure.
