Poetry Day Ireland: Bealtaine Poem Circles

An evening of poetry and song to celebrate May Day for Poetry Day Ireland 2025. We will also acknowledge the Celtic festival of Bealtaine, which took place in prehistoric stone circles. These spiritual sites, where bonfires were kindled to welcome the arrival of summer, were believed to have healing properties.

More recently, May Day united workers of the world to campaign for their rights. All of these themes will be reflected in poems and songs to nourish the soul, and a finale of sound bath therapy to soothe the heart and mind.

Come and join guest poets: Frances Browner, Eithne Hand, Sian Quill, Deirdre McKernan Crosby, and Marc Diamond; musicians: Brian Whelan, John Hutchings, Liam Ruth, and poet/sound therapy practitioner, Layla Morononey, who blends the healing power of sound meditation with the artistry of poetry.
