Adjacent Meridian Point,
Music Together presents their
SUMMER 2018 SHOWCASE PARTY
Having wowed The Whale back in July 2017, the Music Together gang are back, packing the same intoxicating passion for playing live and a great big suitcase of new additions.
Not only will new instruments – such as the hand pan and an amplified xylophone – and a new song be added to the mix, but technology also gets a look-in with an app that will be played through video, iPad and keyboards.
Add to that a bunch of special guests, all joining in as new sounds are brought to traditional songs, and you’ve got yourself an afternoon full jampacked – and jamming – with fun and funkiness.
Founded on the belief that it is a human right to have artistic tools at one’s disposal, and inspired by principles of access and inclusivity, Music Together provides opportunities for people with physical disabilities, alongside non-disabled participants, to develop skills and ambitions in music and related performing arts. Furthermore, by continually striving for artistic excellence and showcasing best practice, Music Together aims to challenge public perception and improve public access to the work of disabled artists, thus paving the way for further integration into the arts community.
MUSIC TOGETHER aims to:
Enhance and develop performers’ skills in music, voice, composition, percussion and music technology with a view to performing concerts at Arts events in the area.
Build new audiences for arts and disability events and demonstrate Music Together’s integrated approach to the performing arts.
This concert has been arranged by Andy and Marion Smith and we are delighted to welcome them back for the second time at Whale Theatre.
