Let Your Colours Run Free is the documentary story of TransGreystones – the first “small town” peer support group in Ireland for transgender and non-binary people.

The film follows their journey led by founders, Sara, Sam and Simon, to forge links with other local community groups and share the members’ talents and inner-most thoughts through a public art exhibition.

The film is a gentle exploration of the challenges faced by trans and non-binary people in rural and suburban Ireland and how creative arts help their mental health. It is an invitation to the wider community to develop a deeper understanding – to create a community where trans and non-binary people feel safe and respected – so they don’t feel that they must leave their homes and families to find a place they feel safe to express their true inner selves.
