Rightly regarded as one of the great concert movies of all time, the coming together of art rock giants Talking Heads and acclaimed film director Jonathan Demme (Something Wild, Silence Of The Lambs) was always going to result in something out of the ordinary.
Starting with one man and his ghetto blaster for a stripped down Psycho Killer, as Stop Making Sense progresses, the line-up grows, and grows, eventually becoming a P-Funk-esque party, complete with Parliament’s own Bernie Worrell on keyboards and Labelle’s Nona Hendryx on backing vocals.
Back on the big screen with a kick-ass sound system, Stop Making Sense became a latenight sensation at Dublin’s Ambassador cinema during its original run, with dancing in the aisles and smiles out the door.
Suffice to say, this is a once in a lifetime experience.
