Greystones Film Club: Michael Inside

MICHAEL INSIDE (Ireland/15A/96mins)

It’s one of the best reviewed Irish movies of the year, and we’re very proud to welcome the man behind it all, Frank Berry.

Both writer and director of Michael Inside, Berry made his name with the 2011 documentary, Ballymum Lullaby, before moving into feature dramas with 2014’s acclaimed I Used To Live Here.

Charting life inside for an 18-year-old Dublin man after he’s caught holding drugs, Michael Inside stars the up-and-coming Dafhyd Flynn in the title role, with the great Moe Dunford among the supporting cast. A major winner at the Cork and Galway film festivals, Michael Inside also picked up Best Film at this year’s IFTAs.

Also attending our July 18th screening will be local filmmaker Kev Cahill, the visual effects titan on such recent hits as Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Paddinton 2 and Solo: A Star Wars Story. Kev is also a talented director, and we’ll be screening his 2015 short, More Than God, before the main event.

Full Bar, Wicklow Farmhouse Cheeseboards, Fresh Popcorn and Confectionary available to buy on the night.
