Greystones Film Club: Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone

Back To School with Harry Potter
Saturday 25th August 2018 8pm €10 [includes free kids 3-in-1 snack box]
The boy wizard who cast his magic over the entire world first stepped into our realm in 1997, when JK Rowling’s debut novel was published, on June 26th that year.
By the time Harry Potter & The Philosopher’s Stone was made into a movie in 2001, Rowling’s creation was already one of the biggest cultural phenomenon of modern times.
The seven movies that followed created worldwide receipts of €7.7billion, making the Harry Potter series of movies the third biggest franchise in the world. We hear the books did pretty darn well too.
To celebrate Harry turning 21 this summer, we’re screening the very first Potter outing on Saturday, August 25th at 8pm. Just to ease the kids back into the idea of school. And how, if you know where to look, you can find magic there.
The €10 admission includes not only the chance to see Harry Potter & The Philosopher’s Stone back up on the big screen but you also get a free snack box, which includes a drink, sweets and some freshly-popped popcorn. Huzzah!
There will also be a prize for the best-dressed Hogwarths hero on the night. So, get your parents’ old graduation gowns down from the attic.
