Making Waves Youth Theatre is delighted to present its 2022 Spring production, First Takes: an evening of scenes and sketches, and invites you to join us for a night of engaging theatre and entertainment! First Takes showcases Making Waves’ talented young actors through a diverse and dynamic selection of short scenes and dramatic sketches and is a lively and eclectic drama experience for theatre lovers of all ages. This dynamic troupe delve deep into the craft of creative storytelling through the theatre of comedy, action, the absurd and much more. Juxtaposing diverse and unique worlds and situations, the audience will encounter weird and wonderful characters, sometimes the extraordinary in the ordinary, and each scene or sketch will tell its own vivid story in its own particular way, together making for a great evening’s entertainment.
About Making Waves Youth Theatre
A community initiative, Making Waves Youth Theatre was founded in 2018 and is generously supported by Ross McParland of the Whale Theatre and Tiglin. The group is facilitated by Ciarán Coogan, Aoife Connolly and Aideen Walton, and it is administered by Joanne O’Shea. Making Waves aims to provide teenagers between the ages of 14 and 18 in Greystones and its environs with the opportunity and space to learn about and make great theatre, through workshops, productions and attending other theatrical productions. Making Waves’ previous productions at the Whale Theatre include Juliet of Verona, a version of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet by Ciarán Coogan; Lost in Transit by Ciarán Coogan; and Shakespeare’s The Tempest, adapted by Aideen Walton and directed by Ciarán Coogan.
