Adjacent Meridian Point,
Yep, it’s quite possibly the finest Irish sitcom ever created – only Garda Patrol comes close – and it’s certainly one of the most-loved around the world.
So much so that fun-loving Bee Gee Maurice Gibb insisted on having the scripts of Father Ted placed in his coffin. Sure, you never know how long you might have to wait for reincarnation to kick in…
A show full of memorable characters beyond the fantastic four of Ted, Dougal, Mrs Doyle and Fr Jack, we’re lucky enough to have two of the show’s very finest guests coming to Greystones.
The mighty Joe Rooney played Dougal’s rebel pal Father Damien Lennon in the Old Grey Whistle Theft episode whilst the towering Pat McDonnell was the Daniel O’Donnell-esque Eoin McLove in Night Of The Nearly Dead.
He has no willy, apparently.
On the night, we’ll be revealing the winner of our Loveliest Father Ted Episode Ever poll, and we’ll also have a special discount on the night for any priests, nuns, tea ladies or Bishop Brennans, with The Whale’s trademark cocktail The Whaletail available to anyone in fancy dress for just €6 instead of the usual menu price of €8. Which should leave a few people feeling craggy in the morning…
Over 18’s Only.
Up with this sort of thing!
