Important Notification – Data Protection

As you may already know, the Whale Theatre will be reopening under new management in Autumn 2025 following an open call for a new owner/operator. This new operator will be the Whale Theatre Company CLG, and we are currently in the transition process. 

As part of this transition, information currently held in Ticketsolve (box office system) and Mailchimp (email newsletters), will also transfer to the new management team, who will become the new data controller. This information includes names, addresses, email addresses and other contact details. 

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to request the erasure of your personal data (commonly known as ‘the right to be forgotten’) if you do not wish for your information to be transferred.

After this date, you can still unsubscribe from email newsletters at any time using the “unsubscribe button” at the bottom of newsletters, or by contacting whaletheatrecompany@gmail.com. 

In relation to data held on Ticketsolve (box office system), the new team will only send you information related to your ticket purchases. If you have previously opted in to receive marketing communications (via email newsletters), you will continue to receive them. You may opt out at any time.
