KITT HAPPENS

Ahead of his March return to The Whale, David Kitt reveals his inspirations…

With his rather fine album, 20, marking, yep, 20 years a-soft-rockin’, and a night in sunny Greystones coming up at The Whale on Friday, March 18th, we asked the mighty David Kitt to tell us not only all about the songs that inspire him, but also how music came to be his heart and soul.

And, you know, his bread and butter.

Take it away, young David…

My dad taught me guitar when I was 7, and I started messing around with open tunings and recording on a tape recorder when I was about 11 or 12.

I got my first four-track when I was 15, and that was it. I made about 7 albums on that thing before I released my debut, Small Moments.

I’ve been doing the same thing obsessively since.

Nice. You can catch David Kitt at The Whale on Friday, March 18th at 8pm.
