We’re delighted to announce our Culture Night programme for 2020!
Wicklow Arts Office, in association with West Wicklow Festival & The Whale Theatre present “Alex Petcu – Solo Percussion” for Culture Night 2020. As part of Ireland’s national celebration of culture, we’re thrilled to be collaborating with the West Wicklow Festival as “East meets West”.
Alex is quickly establishing himself both nationally and internationally as a percussionist of the finest calibre. His debut album,”Alex Petcu: In Time” (RTE lyric fm label) showcases both seminal works and new contributions to the percussion repertoire. Alex is a regular performer with the RTE Concert and Symphony, Ulster and Irish Chamber Orchestras as well as with the Crash Ensemble.
Alex will present a fascinating programme for solo percussion on a variety of instruments from the percussion family, some you might know others you might not! The programme will include works by Xenakis, Debussy and Ney Rosauro as well as improvisations and interludes on home-made instruments made from aluminium, brass, wood, glass and ceramics.
Tickets for this event are free but will be strictly limited to comply with current Covid-19 guidelines.
Tickets will be available right here from 11am on Monday 7th September and will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.
Please read our Covid-19 “Second Act Charter” before booking your tickets. https://whaletheatre.ie/2020/08/second-act-charter-covid19/
