Bollywood & Fine

After a barnstorming, hip-shaking, head-spinning debut, the Greystones Film Club is reteaming up with the award-winning Daata for another double-whammy night of dinner and a date with the big screen.

The dinner will once again be some fine Indian cuisine from the Hillside Road eaterie at 7pm, followed by a short shimmy around the corner to The Whale and the 9pm screening of the 2019 blockbuster, Total Dhamaal [India/PG/130mins).

A footloose and lively remake of Hollywood’s all-star 1963 madcap comedy It’s A Mad Mad Mad Mad World, here, instead of Spencer Tracey, Milton ‘The Python’ Berle and Phil Silvers, the wacky race to some hidden treasure boasts some of Bollywood’s finest – including Ajay Devgn, Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit and Riteish Deshmukh.

It’s a plot that was made for Bollywood, and director Indra Kumar throws everything at the screen to make this one of the most colourful, and ridiculous, smash hits to come out of India in some time.

Oh, and it’s ridiculously funny too, of course – which may explain why Total Dhamaal is also already of India’s biggest grossing of all time.

Happening on Thursday, April 16th, you can grab that yummy Daata dinner and the big-screen Bollywood blockbuster for just €30, whilst there will be a limited number of €10 for the movie only too.
