It’s a tale that can also be very, very funny, as the Jolly Promotions gloriously silly production Little Red Riding Hood And The Silly Billy Wolf proves.
Here, the little girl on her way to bring her grandma a basket of treats deep in the woods isn’t so much in danger as in shock by the wolf she meets along the way – mainly because he’s incredibly incompetent. And goofy. And, of course, silly.
It also helps that grandma is the coolest granny on the planet, and that the lumberjack who saves the day just happens to be a bear.
That the audience get to play games along the way – watch out for granny’s crazy cat! – and singalong to the songs written especially for the show, means that this ancient fairy tale – which comes to The Whale on Sunday, July 1st – is set to enchant and entrance a whole new army of young fans…
