DIGGING THE NEW OPERA BREED

Having left quite a few jaws on the floor after her support performances at The Whale, young soprano Jade Phoenix struck on the bright idea of bringing her fellow opera students together for one magical night.

And, naturally, the name for such a unique gathering of tomorrow’s stars had to be A Night At The Opera.

Boasting not only Jade but fellow sopranos Corina Ignat and Caroline Behan, mezzo-soprano Eimear McCarthy, tenors Vladimir Sima and Berus Komarschela, baritone Dylan Rooney and bass/baritone Matthew Mannion, new blood will be pumped through the works of Mozart, Puccini and Verdi, amongst others.

This will be one of those nights where you can say, whilst sitting in the audience at the Sydney Opera House, hey, I was there at this diva’s very first performance…
