Making Good Food Fun For Kids

Keen to reach those impressionable young minds who might just believe that Capri-Sun is a health drink, The Cool Food School is all about turning kids on to food that’s not only yummy but also truly good for the body and mind.

It’s all the brainchild of local mum Deirdre Doyle, who recognised in her own kids an instinctive aversion to any food that didn’t come wrapped in glossy packaging.

Taking a leaf out of The Happy Pear’s book, Deirdre set about making treats and meals from fruit and vegetables not only tasty and nutritious but also showing kids how the creation of such foods could be a whole punnet of fun too.

And you can find out just how when The Cool Food School takes over The Whale for the afternoon on Saturday, January 20th, with not only cooking demonstrations, healthy treats and fun games but also an interactive screening of an animation classic that just happens to be packed with good food too.
