BRINGING IT ALL BACK HOME

When Carolyn Jacobsen left Wicklow in 1984 and headed to Uganda so she and her husband, Bob, could help the orphans there, it was clear from the start that this Bray native wasn’t doing it for any kind of recognition.

So much so, it’s only now, almost 35 years later, that people close to home are beginning to hear about the incredible work being done in this troubled African country.

Part of that recognition is the upcoming all-star night Jazzin’ It Up For Uganda, with the likes of internet sensation The Dirt Birds, renowned singer Carmel McCreagh and acclaimed musician/arranger Fiachra Trench joining forces for what will be a very emotional night.

For Carolyn and Bob, this will be the first time they’ve been involved in any kind of recognition back home for their tireless work at the Jacobsen Ministry, working to keep families together as well as providing a home for those without a family.
